Specific Job Details -Providing guidance and direction to the

The Project Manager III (PM III) position is responsible for the
management, or the assistance of managing, all phases of project

PM III serves as the unifying agent providing leadership,
management, direction, coordination, and control of the overall
project.
Specifically, this position will manage the Fleet Buried Pipe Project.
This project is considered a “GREEN III” level project due to cost
and complexity; it will have a cost range greater than $100 Million
dollars and MGW impact of over 500; it is for this reason that will be
reporting to Director – Nuclear Plant Projects.
This large project is complex and requires not only knowledge of
operations, licensing, and design basis requirements for an
operating nuclear station, but also a keen knowledge of project risk,
schedule and cost controls, contract negotiating skills, and
construction work practices. This project is a key driver for the
operational success the NGG organization and its strategic plan. The
project has an expected duration of five+ (5+) years; this is a time
critical project and must be performed within initial schedule and
budget. It requires direct line management skills of a large
section/organization; the section will be a mixture of Progress
Energy and contract personnel. Major elements of the overall
project include managing the study, development of the final
detailed scope, design, schedule definition for each deliverable,
complete project / program plan including a risk management plan
